Conquer Life

Conquer life... Like never before...

Praise God during the good times. This is easy ain't it?
Praise God during the bad times..... Well. Theoretically it sounds so holy... And we should praise God at all times. Even the bad times. Where do we draw our strength from?

Everyone goes through life with patches. What's strong and what's weak? Is the strong someone who goes through life successfully without going through rough patches. So what is weak? Going through rough patches time after time and faltering right at the end of his/her journey in life? (This has been what I've been learning in philosophy classes)..

Well well...

This speaks of me over the weekend.
My Uni life has been smooth sailing all along. I haven't encountered much exams that I don't understand a single thing. The paper on Saturday was one of those. I entered the exam room filled with confidence that I'm gonna kill it like I've always been... Prepared as I am. The battle was kinda lost at the end even though we had half an hour of extension to the paper (Have you heard tutors giving extension to a major exam during the course of the paper itself?). War is not won nor decided by a single battle. Plan and strategise... We'll win it at the end.

Euro 2008 finals is in 2 hrs time and I have not watch a single match yet (So different from Euro 2000,2004). Ha ha. I've been watching football since 1997 (Was an Arsenal supporter then). Until I turned 'redder' in 98 (Just before they won the treble). So you couldn't say that I supported Man Utd because they have won the lot. In fact, Arsenal was the team that did the double in the 97-98 season!

I miss home. I really do.
If I can teleport like how Pit Lord does, I would!
Ha ha. Kinda engaged in the Warcraft world now?!
It was yet another dota night on Saturday night.
Was so much fun.
Got the kills I needed.
Never knew that Phantom Lancer was such an amazing hero with the right items (Well, which isn't). But it is my new fetish! lol.

Have a good one........
July is drawing near!
(The month of many many birthdays)
On my list, bar December, July has the most number of birthdays!

Pictures

Some pictures for you guys to chew..
Not much of my mysterious face though!!
It won't be mysterious anymore if there's too much!
Just another night

The legendary vending machine..... That kept Bondies sane.

Lengendary convex mirror (Tell me whether it's concave or convex... I have a 50% chance of getting it right though)

Legendary game with an even more legendary gamer. Whahaa.

Legendary friend in blue.

Legend with his legendary bike.

One of those gaming nights!

Ha ha..Ok. I'm praying tonight for things to move.
Things to shift. When I turn up, things happen! There's just a fine line between confidence and arrogance... But going into a different realm just brings u different results. You can be humble and confident.... You can also be arrogant yet ill-confident and insecure!

Friendship

Friendship is so important.....

Quote....
'Special friendships had been welded. Many will last a lifetime.' - Rob mundle reporting on the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race that claimed 5 lives and in which only 44 of the 115 strong gleet finished.

Most fallen ministers that Pastor Phil has met with said that they had n-one to talk to, no trusted friends who would understand their problem.

God says, 'It's not good that man (woman) be alone.'
Friends are to laugh with, cry with and do life together with.
Friends are forged in fire
Shared experience is the basis of relationship.
Be there in their ups, their downs, and friendship forms.
Our destiny is locked into our friendships.
Jonathan was meant to inherit his father Saul's throne, but he prepared his soul friend David for that.

How are your friends?

I know how important friendship is and I never want to let some of the valuable friendships in live to go. Proverbs 27:17 "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."

Today was a day where I rested (Sabbath day man!)
lol. It was good and I felt refreshed.
Talked to some friends online and did some stuff that matter to me today!
Tomorrow will be awesome!!!!!

2 down 1 more on Sat!!

Had Fundies today! Woo..
I am a pretty paranoid person.
Set two alarm clocks.. Put them under my bed so that it's difficult to reach them..
I'm left with Quants on Saturday!

I have kinda developed a bad habit last week...
Whenever the alarm clock rings, I will turn it off and go back straight to bed.
And ha ha. Miss 3 lectures last week as a result of that.
2 are really unimportant ones. But I skipped one of the lectures that has a little quiz in it. lol.

Anyway. Today's fundies seemed pretty good too.
Watched Titanic (For the first time since it's release 12 years ago).
It was such a good movie and I can almost feel myself in the movie!
Jack and Rose.... Up the hill..
The love story seemed pretty fictional and at the same time, sad..
Well well.

I watched Narnia (Prince Caspian)... That movie really set me thinking. It's not one of those movie that you watch just for the actions and fightings.... The character and the intents of the heart of humans are relatively visible in that show. Real and very real indeed!

Ok... That's about it.
We just had a dota night. Was a pretty good night I reckon. ha ha.
Killed quite a bit today!
Had fair share of winning and losing though.

Peace

Business Law

Business Law Exam at 10a.m. this morning.
Went alright. Ha ha.

Was so afraid that I would oversleep... Lol.
Woke up at 7.15a.m. (heart pumping 3X faster than usual)

Check the clock and temperature.
It was so cold in the morning.
Bryan was almost like an ice.. Ha ha.

No classes for a lot of subjects this week (So Shiok!)
Wahhahahahah
Love it love it love it!
If C.Ron goes, he's going to be Man Utd public enemy no.1. Lol.

Ok. Gonna study for Fundies now.
Gotta bath first.
Man. I miss dota nights with the boys.
and of course the Presence of God can't be discounted today.
The Latter family prayed for me during my examination.
They are such a lovely family!

New Temperature....

I was so cold in the morning that I kind of dreaded getting out of my blanket....

As I'm typing this, the temperature is furiously getting to new lows.
It's 10deg celsius right now outside my place.
I reckon it will hit lows like for the next two weeks.

Sorry to tropical people in Singapore and Malaysia... Ha ha.
However, I don't enjoy it this time round. I used to like it.. But the temperature this morning seemed to went below 10deg. And coming from a hot and wet place, it's so difficult to adjust.

Business Law mid semester tomorrow.
I must get there early man!
(Failure to attend MYE = Fail the whole examination)
This is as scary as anything!!!
For Your glory... We carry high your torch!

Dota-ed for two consecutive nights with the gang three nights ago.
Lol. First night wasn't that fun as my team was losing. Friday night dota was full of jokes.
We're commenting about Enchant and Riki..
lol. Yii made a comment about Riki: Riki only know how to be invisible then kill ar? Lol. I replied if dota's character is not meant to kill, what is it meant to do? Like Enchant? Only know how to heal and die ar. (His Enchant was owned by my Riki).. It was spoken in Mandarin, hence the atmosphere was much more livelier.... and we all burst out laughing through that game while my Riki was killing people for fun...

Ha ha. Madness.. I should get back to studying now.
23 Chapters, more than 450pages to study.. About 370 down now.
Fun ar.

Great pals

I guess I have some friendship in Uni that cannot and won't be forgotten.

Just studied with one of the best students I have ever seen in my life. Whahaha.
A privilege I know. What made her so successful as a student and as a person? I was so eager to check it out. The amount of preparation she has is immensed. It's more than the notes. But also the diligence in studying. It's great to hang around successful people and rub their intelligence on yourself. Whahaha. Yeah. It just makes you better. We're studying Business Law and if you are a business student at Bond especially, mid term isn't that kind to you. 23 chapters, over 450 pages of text to "consume".

Ok. Have been staying over at my friend's place yesterday and definitely tonight.
Life has so much to conquer.
I'm looking forward to conquering life after University.
It surely would be one of the best things on the face of this earth I reckon.
Well, I am enjoying my life at Uni right now.

Love the present, prepare for the future and learn from your past.
Prepare... Like never before.
That's what I've learnt today.
Enjoy and cheers.

Word

The word that Pst Lucas gave me was a preparation for this week I reckon...
Things just happen.

Yeap.
I'm glad I was prepared for it.
I put in a substantial amount of effort into my essay and although I did pass... It wasn't anything I thought I would get.

Legendary Word from him, "Don't focus too much on how you perform. Focus on who you are and start being you." This sentence isn't exact. But the idea was to be myself. Remove that "I need to perform to get love" mask from my face. Of course it doesn't mean that I can rest on my laurels. I still want to maintain and get my Dean's or even VC list at the end of the year. The heart behind that was that he wanted me to know that people love me for who I am, not what I've done. If people love me for what I've done.. Then that's not love.

I spent the past two hours working on a question on Quants.
I never knew that Excel could do such wonders! Lol.
With all the vlookup, if statements. I could literally plan anything.
I was just doing a question on how to reap optimal profits in a given situation.
With Excel, we can do wonders. I can straight away apply what I've learnt in Quants to my real life.

Life is about processes. Successful people have good processors in life.
Man. Business Law, Fundies and Quants next week!
Woo. Gonna study with one of the top students on Friday!

Self?

To God, a heart of flame.
To others, a heart of love.
To self, a heart of STEEL.

Well, the first two might seem difficult, but in fact the third one is the one that will hinder each and every of us from fulfilling our destiny.

Don't treat yourself too good....

A lot of us are concern about speaking the right things..
Doing the right things.
Ha ha. like who doesn't?

Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. And I want to add that our heart also reflects our actions. Ha ha. Quite fearful to add to the bible because we shouldn't add nor subtract to the bible....

But yeah. Our heart will taken care of our actions when our hearts are right!
Man. Today wasn't a good day.
It was just one of those days when you wake up and the clock is playing some tricks on you!
At the same time, there was also an unannouced quiz going on.
I thank God that there are 3 quizzes all in all and only the best of 2 count.
Though I missed one, I thank God that He always provides a way for me.
But still.. Ha ha..
Not very good...... What's done is done.
The ability to bounce up is more vital than anything else.

2 down... 1 to go and 3 more coming...

Handed in two assignments today... 1 more to hand in on Thursday.
3 Mid Semesters next week...

Final Year Timetable are out! Ha ha.
I only end my paper on the 16th of August.
Ha ha. Well... August Rush...

Two of my friends' birthday fall on that day I think. Whahah.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to those on the 16th Aug.

You know the feeling on cloud 9? lol.
Went to gym and after that basketball!
Wow. Played a great game today. Was dominating the game. albeit we're on the losing side. Lol. That's alright. Coz the match was decided on just one basket.

Feeling a little tired after my sumptuous dinner (Do I sound like a swine?!) lol.
Pst Lucas Jacometti was just awesome on Sunday.
I went up for prayer and he prayed a good word for me.. Certainly no angels.... No extremely bright lights.. Just normal but impactful!

L.A. Lakers?? Where are u

I haven't watch a game at the finals yet. I guess it would be hard to watch!
Lakers are currently down 3-1 and I am not optimistic that they will win the next 3 games and grab kobe Bryant's 4th NBA title in his illustrative 12 year career.

I slept a total of 12 hours after yesterday's sleepless day!
2 assignments to down today.....
Fundamentals of Finance + Quantitative Techniques in Finance.
However... I just grabbed hold of 2 Keira Knightley's movie!! Atonement and King Arthur..
Do you think it'll be that easy to study!?

Nonetheless.. Self-Control is required.

The Kingdom (Youth event at CCC Robina) was great last night.
I was there with heaps of people and that was awesome.
I was on for Crew Leading as usual and it felt good. Ha ha.
I felt purposeful week in week out serving people.
Yeah. My skills in leadership would've to go up one notch to make this a better place.

The "L" button in my computer is playing pranks on me again!
Going to have my brunch now dudes and dudettes.
Beloved Lakers! Win or lose.. I'll still love u people! I never thought that I would see Lakers in the NBA Finals for the 5th time again in my lifetime.. You peeps are amazing..

What's Euro 2008 compared to NBA Finals. the verdict - nothing!

Praise.

Be lavishing in your praises to people...
It can make one's day......
My Cultural and Ethical Values (Philosophy) teacher said that I had a pretty well written essay that requires some final polishing. Well, that is awesome.. Especially from the mouth of your lecturer. You feel good.. Don't you...

Was really late for my first lesson today (Which was ironically my Cutural and Ethical Values class). But there was a reason for that! Was chatting till pretty late last night on MSN and did some work that was due next Friday. To be franked, it was boring. But I tried to get what the tutor was saying nonetheless. I got a little out of that due to my 'attentiveness'.. Whahahahaha.

As you can see. There are just heaps of assignments lately.
Nevertheless... All is good. Thanks to my lovely teammate.
We had to work in pairs and she is more than smart, but helpful.
She did so much work that is beginning to make me feel a little 'xiu'. Lol.
I had to tell her that I will complete the remaining because she simply did too much! Whahah.. It's good nonetheless.

Hope to have a good rest.. But it doesn't seem possible with my late night assignment later on.
Anyway...

Basketball...

Finally back to the court...

After 3-4 months. played 2 full hours.. Half court, full court...
Yeah everything la!
Was so tired after that.
Man. I couldn't have had a worst game. Lol.
It was good. I simply am the best defender and the worst attacker on the floor (Maybe not the worst, but I love to exaggerate)
I am blessed with ability to read the game. That makes me one step ahead of my opponent and vroom... Off the ball goes.. But whenever I get the ball, I can't seem to put it into the bucket. I only scored about 5-6 baskets throughout the game with one full court solo. Ha ha. But my attack wasn't smooth at all. Nevertheless.. I grabbed tons of rebounds, block tons of shots and had tons of steals.

Okok. No more raving.. Tons of assists too.. Coz I just can't seem to put it into the bucket..
I'm feeling super hungry now and all I need is food.
A lot of assignment that's gonna be completed by tonight.

Bryan Yee...... It is going to be a long night....

I have been reading Psalm and in chapter 66, it talks about giving our all when we praise God!!
ARHHHHHHH.. Ha ha. I am shouting.. Super random.. I know..
I love the process of work!

Monday....

Monday... Yet another new day in a new week at Uni.

Semester 3... Week 5 day 1.
A day haunted by Business Law.
I actually studied quite a bit for Business Law last night. Wasn't the most focused I would say. On MSN with 3-4 people + music + studying. I was expecting a chill night anyway. I downed one cup of black coffee and at the same time waving goodbye to sleep.

Caught up with Jem Quek, Jia Yang and a little bit with the rest here and there. It was cool though. It was also Jaslyn's birthday and my amazing friend Pauline's birthday. Ha ha. Knew the latter for more than 3 years, but well.. A friend is a friend. Like what she said... Distance doesn't really matter. What matters is the heart I would say.

Reading people's blog have kept me relevant. And I've got to say that a lot of times that is what keep me wanting to soar higher in life.

Assignments and assignments are cramming us out. A lot of bondies are facing heaps of pressure these days. It's Queen's birthday today and every institution and most offices have holidays today but Bond. I think we might have disregard the Queen.... - Too much man!

Nevertheless the turn up rate for Business Law wasn't 100% though. Even for our tute (We get marks for attending tute + Participation)... Giving wrong answers these days are common. It's getting much harder these days. Well. It doesn't matter, does it? I've given my best to the tutes anyway.

Awesome Sunday

Routine on Sunday - Change bedsheet, vacuum, go to church and did some work at the same time..

However, reading Leadership Excellence this morning and for the past few days have been amazingly awesome. It has kind of change some of my perception about leadership. A manager is not necessarily a leader, but manager needs some leadership skills to get things done.. Same for a leader. A leader may not be a manager but needs managing skills to help them get their lives organised. Any organisation will only go as far as the strength of the leadership of the church. Everyone wants to be a leader, but some aren't called to be one. Some are called to be great managers. If that's your call, i.e. to be a good manager, be one! Check our hearts periodically, what's our motivation... of becoming a leader. Be truthful to ourselves always.

Connections... I love Church and I just can't get enough of it each week. I look forward to church week in week out. Although there are days when I don't feel like going at all!! Nevertheless, it was good today. Was talking to Chelle today and we chat about my stay in Australia. I'm leaving next Aug-Oct (Pretty long time still). And I told her that I'll come back one day! We then talk about going for holiday trips.. Her and Ben together with myself and my future spouse. Lol. It was hilarious and we're just talking and talking. It was fun though!

The letter "l" on my keyboard is playing tricks with me....

Pastor Adrienne preached an awesome message today. It was a powerful message.. She talked about the story - Mary and Martha... When Jesus came to their house.. Only Mary is keen about what Jesus had to say while Martha was busy with her stuff....

She gave many analogy of people missing services on Sunday.... and what is the solution for them??

1. My relatives came from afar to visit me.. - a) Well.. Bring them to church with you.. b) get them to stay at ur place if they are pretty against it and this could be a good time for them to recharge physically before embarking on their journey.

Well.. these are just practical steps... The heart behind all this is that... Sunday is the first day of the week, and there's no reason to say we're too busy because it's the first day of the week. There was a time where the shops were all closed on Sunday. Visit some of the countryside of Australia, and we can find that!!!

Huge but empty

I've been staying over at Heng's place for the past few days.
Well, partly because we have a Uni event on Thursday.. Palaver...

It's my first on such events.. And I don't reckon I will enjoy them. I prayed a little before I went.
After lesson on Thursday... Went over to Heng's place while he's getting ready to go for his tute.
Had a long day with shopping at Pac-cas. It's was pretty alright.. Got a few holes for my belt as they were too loose. (Even though I've gained another 2 kg). Lol.

Thursday night was the start of the event. 11 of us from Malaysia went for that together. (9 of them came from the same high school fyi). Ha ha. We had some drinks Bond Uni's very own Don's tavern. Well, I only had a little over 2 drinks and also grabbed a bottle of mineral water while some of them drank to their fulfillment (Since it's free). Since mineral water suits me more.... lol. Met a couple of people there whom I've seen before but never talked to. It was a great social night.

Later on, we've an after party at Surfer's Paradise. I was really not geared up for that, but since it's complementary.. I decided to go for it, with the rest. We were fighting to board the buses and we got the last one, fortunately or if you see it in another sense, unfortunately.

Off we go and into Surfers. Some of them have reached before us as they got to board the previous bus. Some of them had dinner while I just stoned around. into the clubs we went after that.... The feeling of emptiness in a room in a sea of crowd. We can be alone and not yet lonely and we can be lonely even though we are surrounded by a multitude. The devoid of purpose and the lack of vision in that huge place gripped my heart. One of the most 'expensive' places in the world- Definitely the clubs. Young people destined to have a life of purpose but never had the beliefs and courage to stand up to that. Well, they aren't bad people, in fact a lot of them are good and smart people studying at Unis.

I've never enjoyed dancing so after a while, I decide to take a stroll along the beach (One of the finest beaches in the world is in Surfers, for sure!) alone. On my way to the beach, I met a couple of friends at Maccas and after chatting with them, off I went for a stroll. I just talked to God while I was strolling and I felt so good although I was alone. The best place for QT.. That's for sure!

Heng gave me a call after 15-20 minutes and asked me to join him at the club. After a little hesitation, I decided to give it a try since I'm there. Well.. I danced with the people on the dance floor. To be frank, it was alright, not as bad as imagined, but I wouldn't give my life to the clubs as the devoid of purpose in life would definitely kill me. Palaver was indeed a well organised events by the student's council.

Scenes of people vomitting and young people requiring assistance to walk as a result of going over their limits in their consumption of alcohol were common sight.

Off we went - on a cab back to Bond Uni... Played PS2 with one of my khakis till day broke. We slept after that. Heh..

Ok... Lot's of assignment coming up in the next 2 weeks before my mid-semester examination. See ya soon!

Jesus..... Lead me

Leadership Excellence is a must read book by anyone who aspires to be a leader... Irrespective of your field or area of influence.

I got so inspired by that book personally even though it was just the second time I touched that book. I'm on my way to finish that book..... NBA final - L.A. Lakers Vs Boston Celtics starts tomorrow (Or Friday...) Not that sure. But it's within two days.

My Soul Delight is an awesome song!
Talking about songs... Any Coldplay lover?
Yeah. Check them out guys. They're worth listening.
Some Hoobastank old songs creep up to me too - Crawling in the dark.. The reason... Running away... All great classics!

Today's a day of reminiscing (Just songs..)
One of the Christian songs that brought me back to the year 2005.
When the One Way song was super hot then!! The song that really touched me wasn't One Way, although it's a great song.

From the Album More than Life (Live) - Where Your love lasts forever....
Those moments I have with God with this song is countless. Probably I can count, but then... It is just awesome. Being a worshipper of God sure brings back some great songs. Certain songs are seasonal. But a few aren't.. "Here I am to Worship" is a song that's pretty much recitable by all Christians that have walked this walk long enough. I have a folder of Christian songs that I worshipped with... I update them constantly and some songs just stick there.. They don't go away. Songs like God of my forever... It's been there since I had it. I didn't make an attempt to delete or rather don't even want to cause it has been through the ups and downs with me when I'm here, in this foreign land.

Continue to walk on.. Fellow brethren and sistren. You can have your archives of songs and more than songs. It's that day to day encounter. This walk is amazing. Life feels more fulfilling with God.

Planetshaker's Saviour of the World album is awesome...

Rain

It rained non-stop today....
Someone must be praying for rain!!

Got drench when I reach Uni, that's alright...
I had to queue for Palaver tickets anyway. So my bag can stay dry....

Skipped Business Law lecture in the morning due to crazy rain..
I was about to step out of the house and the rain told me not to. Whahaha.. I know it sounded exaggerating, but I am very serious. The rain was so crazily heavy (already 1hr into lecture).

Lol. Heard from people that the lecture wasn't that good anyway. Yeah. We can study those Law stuff on ourselves anyway. Tutorial was pretty fruitful. I really hope to get at least 15 for my participation. That's not even a HD grade, but then that's the minimum I hope for.

Went to the gym to pump some Iron today. It was pretty crowded and I hate crowded gym! Worked out for close to one hour and off I went for my lunch... Chill out a bit and read a travel magazine. Montenegro (In Europe) is a very good place for honeymoon, ha ha. Lol. So potential couples, check that out! But I'm not sure about the language that they speak there.

Went to Heng's place and played cards... Ha ha. The sky turned dark at 5.15p.m. and I was like wow! Lol. Cycled home and was badly drench on my way back home. But I was enjoying being drench. It was so fun and I was just singing along with the tunes of my ipod. Sick as I might sound, that's what I pretty much enjoy. Ha ha. Rushed to the bathroom when I reach home and took a hot shower!

That's pretty much my day.

More later on.

Winter!

1 June 2008
19/1/2 yrs of age!
1st day of winter today....

Dun expect me to talk about snow coz there's no snow over at Queensland!
Tomorrow's going to be a cold and wet day!

Talk about today!
Woke up at 8.35a.m. and rushed to church with Max and Sharon.
I got to sit at the front row today!
The atmosphere was certainly different at the front.
It was a great service with Pastor Don touching on how Hannah refused to stay at where she was - that is having no children.. She refused to stay at where she was and persisted with God... and God gave her a child.. Not a normal child, she gave birth to the amazing prophet Samuel (To know more about Samuel, read 1st and 2nd Samuel). One of the kings Samuel appointed was a young, ruddy but good looking and without blemish David. Like what they always say, the rest is history.

Another passage in the bible we touched on is Isaish 54! Yes. The verse that Heart of God Church built upon a couple of years when Pastors got that vision! It was a pretty good and relevant word as a result of what it is. Enlarge, stretch, lengthen and strengthen.

I went over to the Latter house today and did some dishes with their family. The Japanese girls - Matsumi and Tomomi were awesome. I learnt how to cook Miso Soup from them. Not just ordinary Miso soup. But the best Miso soup I have ever had. and I'm not kidding... Ha ha. I'm gonna 'steal' their recipe and cook it for the lucky one. We also cooked Chicken with vegetables, spaghetti and amazing hand made Sushi! The fellowship and fun we had over at the Latter's house cooking was simply awesome. Time just flew while we're cutting the vegetables, stir-frying stuff and cooking... lol. All of us had a great dinner afterwards too. Mark was pretty funny when he said that seaweed was gotten out of a fish called seaweed fish. lol. I think he was trying to be funny. But he seemed pretty serious and I thought that he'd make a good comedian! Lol.

Went to church after our dinner and Narnia is being screened on the TV right now.... Ok I have to bath now as I haven't had a shower the whole day!

Much Loveeeeeeee XOXO
Bryan
