The Kingdom

Last night's Kingdom was awesome.
Annaliese Halvorsen preached about us being spiritual and used sports as an analogy to it.
It was a good word nevertheless.

I was just serving yesterday as crew leader and it was truly good.
The pressure of serving as a crew leader is much more than that in kid's church..
Nevertheless.. I relish it. It's about making God's house a better place for people.
I even dreamt about it last night.. Doing the same exact thing yesterday.. I was like... What?

I had an awards night on Thursday for academic excellence. I was there to collect my award for a place in the Dean's list. There was such an atmosphere of brain cells there... (Lol. good analogy I supposed). The girl whom I met last semester, Danielle was truly an exceptional student. She won two awards last night. She is just so brilliant in the things that she does. I'm completely blown away by her at times. Yeah. Very very inspired by her.

I also watched Take the Lead and Indiana jones - The raider of the lost ark..., not the latest one, but the one in 1981. Ha ha. It was a pretty good movie I reckon. Take the Lead was pretty alright. The lead actress in Step Up was in that movie too! Heh.. Woosh..

Alright. Today will be a day of good rest and good work!
Till then,
Cya!

Routineee... and also pictures!

Getting used to routine...
Life is all about having good routines.

Tomorrow is going to be one night for me.
Collecting my first of many academic awards at Bond (Ha ha. This takes quite a bit of faith to proclaim). But I'm pretty sure my dream will come to pass when I depend on Him for Strength...

Had a 1 hour Finance Tutorial today and it was pretty cool. Got through it pretty fast... That's probably because I'm starting to fall in love with the subject. Ha ha. Yeah. When we prepare for our tutes, everything seems to be much more easier....

A step of faith is all we need for the big almighty God to move in our lives!~
I've learnt so much the past few days by just observing how great man and woman of God do things. Observation of great men and women is the key to success in life... Servanthood and discipleship are the keys to great success....

Some pictures for you people to chew on..... (Click on it for larger view!)
At Movieworld!

My Family... The animal on my right took my hat...

I grabbed it backk....

Pastors, Lynette and Rinnah (Lynette is hidden by that black and orange thing)..
Look at Pastor Lia's right index finger and that of Rinnah's!!

I think I should be a photographer... What a scenic view.... Picturesque.

Sunrise at 5.40a.m.
Ain't this view lovely?
Only seen at the gold coast!

Tuesday bluess

Pretty much Tuesday blues today!!
It's nearing winter now and it was freezing cold this morning..

Temperature hit below 10 degrees celsius and I had trouble getting out of bed (Once again!)
I love the cold weather (For Sure) but I never expected it to be this cold!
This is more than cold.
It's freezing! Lol. Ha ha.

God is an amazing God.
Red Rain was raining down in Singapore over the weekends... and and and
We hit a new high for Red Rain!
Not in the attendance, but the number of Decisions!!!
Attendance counts for nothing when there's no decision.
That's amazing..
When Pastor How told us about it last night... I couldn't contain my excitement. What I can do is to pray for my amazing church!! One of our tactics - We use the beauty of our church to attract!! Lol. Both Externally (As in the design of the church) and internally (The people in the church)..

6 hours of lessons in Uni today almost put me off.. I felt exhausted after learning so much.
More than learning, I'm teaching people at the same time too.. I reckon that's one of the most fulfilling thing to do... To serve others...

We're created to love and to serve....And talking about that, I just came home from kids' church meeting too. It was just fabulous. Although I talked v. little (As usual).. I got a lot out of it! Yeah. I shared my experience being in kids' church with the people and I hope they got bless too!!
Anyway, I've got to go!

Love

RR 2008

I have not missed RR since they came to Singapore in 2002.
Pastors, Lynette and Jon would be in the same boat as me. Ha ha.

Spending time with Pastors, family and friends have been the most amazing thing over the past few days.
We went to Movie World (With all the crazy rides!!).
Ha ha. I also got to drive! Ha ha. Unfortunately, the weather isn't too good too.. I didn't got to drive much as the whole window was misty and I couldn't see the oncoming traffic.

I certainly got to know Jon much better. Heh...
There's so much to say, so little time.

There's a lecture at 10a.m. and you know what? I am going to skip that lecture to complete my tute which is at 1p.m. (We don't lose marks for skipping lectures though)...

The two services that Pastor How preached yesterday were simply awesome.
So good hearing Pastor How once again!
Okok. Manchester United won 2 titles this season (I still can't get over that fact!)
C. Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney have gotten all the top prizes any top club in England can get. FA Cup, League Cup, Premier League and UCL.

Man Utd with the double!

Manchester United vs Chelsea
Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow.....

Woke up at 5.30a.m.
Just so that I could catch the second half......
1-1 was the score at half-time...
2nd half wasn't a classic, with players going down with muscle problem and stuff!
Pitch wasn't at its best.
Chelsea hit the woodwork twice and were not to be denied.
It was a fairy-tale ending nonetheless....

Extra Time - Drogba got sent off as a result of slapping Vidic 5 minutes before extra time(He could be the eventual penalty-taker that might have saved the day for Chelsea).
Man Utd and Chelsea then made their last substitution of the game before heading off to penalties.
It was 4-4 after a C.Ronaldo missed penalty and if Chelsea scored the next, they would have won! Who better to take apart from Captain Marvel John Terry. A twist to the story.... He slipped while taking the penalty and the score stands at 4-4. Anderson and Kalou scored for Man Utd and Chelsea respectively to make it 5-5. Giggs, the old warhorse as described by the commentator, scored the next penalty to make it 6-5. Up step Nicholas Anelka for Chelsea, he directed the ball to the right of Van Der Sar and Van Der Sar guesses correctly and well, the rest is History!!!!!

Man Utd are crowned European Champions 2007/2008!!!! What a night.. What a night!!! A revenge against Chelsea in last year FA Cup final!!

Man Utd won the double as a result. A nerve-shredding game. Supporters of either team would be feeling the way I feel. O well.

Going to bath now and off to Uni I go!

Pastors and family

Did some catch-up with Pastors and my family last night.......

Wow. It has been a long time since I've seen my family. This is my second time seeing Pastors, Lyn and Rinnah!! The first being at Sydney. Jon was also there! Nevertheless, catching up with everyone is fabulous.

I had dinner with Pastors and family too. Believe me, or not, this is my first time having a meal together with Pastor How. As a 13 year old in church 6 years ago, I did sat down with Pastor Lia and we talked about my life. Ha ha. That was then. I could never imagine having dinner with Pastors anywhere out of Singapore. And it was fabulous.

I really cherish every moment I have with all of them. Talking to Singaporeans help to bring myself on the cutting edge again (But of course not to the 'edge' yet).

Pastor How was just talking about how impressed he was with Korea and I couldn't agree more from the story that he was telling us.

I have a one hour class tomorrow...
Yawns.
Bryan yee.. lol.

Kids!

It's just been an awesome day.

Woke up early in the morning at quarter to 8a.m. today. It was just awesome.
Watched the last quarter of Celtics vs Caviliers.

Well, Celtics won. Ha ha. I'm on neutral ground, so I'm pretty cool whichever team won. But it would be awesome to see LeBron James playing with Kobe Bryant in the NBA Finals, well, that's impossible now. So the Eastern conference Final matchup is up. Celtics vs Pistons.

Ok. So much for being a basketball fan. Let's talk about kids.....
Ha ha. I never really have any special affection for kids throughout my life until a few weeks ago.
Yesterday was my first official roster on Kids' church. It was so fun.
I've served in Kids' church a few times... Guided.. But yesterday was truly exceptional flying solo.

Mike and I were taking care of the people from grade 3-grade 5 (Academically, equivalent to Primary 3 to 5 in Singapore, but in terms of age, they are two years younger) So grade 3-5 is between the ages of 7-9. Still remember those times where our age is single digit? lol. Well. In a matter of months, I'll be out of my teenage years.

While Mike prayed for all the guys and I prayed for all the girls during prayer time. I wanted to try something new. So I told all the girls to tell me what requests do they have. And they are the most adorable thing ever. One said - I want to pray for my guinea pig that it'll stop biting. Another prayed for her dog to stop barking. One of the dad's is being saved today. It was a truly awesome time praying with them. I thought I would never spend more than 5mins praying with them. I end up taking up more time than Mike. It was so cool and I did a round up prayer for each of the girls.

I can truly tell you that nothing is impossible because if I can interact with kids this way (Which is extremely rare), anything can be done. I probably am never going to teach in a nursery or Kindergarten... But if I could relate to kids like what I did yesterday, it must be God. The night before kids' church, I just prayed to God to let me have fun with the kids after my amazing Time with Him.

God rewarded me doubly. Over at the other room, kids from Pre-School to Grade 2 (4-6 yrs) were short-handed and they needed someone to go over and help. So they sent me over. And I gladly agreed. The kids were simply adorable. After kids church, one of the kids pretend to want to talk to me and got me to bend over... And I would have never guess what she would do to me. She tickle my neck and said "Tickle.. Tickle.." She was so cute. Like the cutest angel ever. And another boy tried to tackle me and I pinned him down twice. Ha ha. We had loads of fun over at kids' church.

- We don't always have to serve in areas where we think our strengths lie. Rather, serve in an area where there is a need. The passion will come... It's more than stepping out of our comfortzone. When our passion is in God, things will just fall into place.

Pastors and family are touching down today. Looking forward to seeing them!

Psalm

Been reading the book of Psalm for quite a few months now.

One of the verses that really hit me lately was in 37:4 - Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. This verse just stayed in my heart after I read that! (:

Pastors and family are coming tomorrow to the Gold Coast. & & & I'm stoked to the max. They'll be preaching @ CCC Robina too. Ha ha. You guys would have know much I look forward to this week. I was like counting down since months ago! I couldn't have had a better week than this week this year on the Coast, that is.

Man. First week of University just went by like a breeze.
Business Law day tomorrow too! A full on Business Law day.
Gotta sleep well for tomorrow.. that's for sure!

I had a 200Km drive with Michael Abbot today. It was fun visiting the countryside of Australia.
I defintely would hope to do it again... and again!!

Lakers vs Jazz

It has been quite a few months since I last watched an NBA game.

My beloved L.A. Lakers has been crashing out of playoffs first rounds for the past two seasons.. But History is not going to repeat itself.

Lakers were leading as many as 19points midway through the third. A couple of turnovers and poor execution by them almost handed the game to the Jazz. Their lead was cut to 3 in the final 20 seconds. Phew. It was certainly a nice game and it got me on the edge of my seats, cheering for Kobe, Fisher, Vujacic, Gasol and Odom. Kobe couldn't have done it better as an MVP and a member of the NBA Defensive First Team player of the year.

34points 8 Rebounds 6 Assists... What more can you expect from him. Fisher had an amazing game too. A calming influence. Gave whatever he had to win the game. Made two crucial free throws towards the end....

It certainly brought out the Laker fan I was in 01-02 season where they beat Sacramento Kings in the Conference Final. Kobe's opposite, Chris Webber was an awesome player then.

07-08 Western Conference Final - L.A. Lakers vs the winner between New Orlean Hornets and San Antonio Spurs. I would certainly love Spurs to win. Both teams are immensely strong. Spurs power packed attack - Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan. Hornets' power packed attack - Chris Paul (Contender to be one of the best PG in the world right now), David West and Tyson Chandler.

Well, Lakers have our very own Bryant, Odom and Gasol. With Radmonovic hitting 3s for fun and the calming influence of Derek Fisher.... Okok. A real fan talks about his team... for sure..

That was what I have been spending my last 2 hours - Watching Game 6 Semifinals of the Western Conference between Lakers and the Jazz.

Well. Church was good last night... A season for me to grow right now!

Well.

Typical typical...

Slept at 4a.m. last night, playing Cards with friends. lol.
Yeah. It was certainly fun.

Woke up at 7.30a.m. to catch the booksale.
I had to get there early to get the books that I want!
And I got the book that I want (Business Law @ AUS70, that's expensive even though it's second hand.)
Well, I sold my Strategic Management 4 bucks more than that. Ha ha. I didn't make any profit, but then the price was way above the price that I have pledged for in the first place.

Okok. I went to meet my academic advisor to discuss about the subjects that I'm going to take for the next year or so. Well. I cannot take the subject that I wanted to take - Options and Futures. Well. The bright side is that I get to graduate in the semester that I want to graduate. What I want to do now is to study hard and get the desired grades before returning.. Ha ha.

8/1/2 months have passed since I first stepped into this foreign land. I'm glad to hear that my friends in Yuhua that have graduated from Polytechnic have earned themselves a place in the local University. That is awesome. I really hope to catch up with them real soon.

Giving our best

It's vital to give our best in whatever we do.
Be it in the smallest things in serving people.
An excerpt from Tevez's report.

"Tevez thanked United fans for showing him their support all season, and said: 'I think English people love me because I do my best every weekend. I have always done my best, as well as in West Ham, Corinthians or Boca shirts."

That is what made him successful. His talents are in the area of football and watching him play is such a joy. And it's no surprise that two of his goals in the premier league are contenders for goal of the season.

I had a lecture this morning on Cultural and Ethical values. It's a good subject! It is about philosophy and throughout the next 12 weeks or so, we're going to examine what the previous philosophers have said. People like Plato, Aristotle and John Locke...

Ha ha. Well, everyone of us is a philosopher in some ways.

Well. Something inspiring.
The Word of God saves the day.
Reading the word of God may sometimes be hard.
We might not even see the purpose of reading it everyday.
However, throughout history, the Word has delivered lives, won battles, restored marriages, made the worst of enemies to best of friends (A great example is WW2) -

"One of the most inspiring stories to come out of World War II is the story of how DeShazer, the Doolittle Raider who bombed Nagoya, met Captain Mitsuo Fuchida, who led the attack on Pearl Harbor, becoming close friends. Fuchida became a Christian in 1950 after reading a tract written about DeShazer titled, I Was a Prisoner of Japan, and spent the rest of his life as a missionary in Asia and the United States. On occasion, DeShazer and Fuchida preached together as Christian missionaries in Japan. In 1959, DeShazer moved to Nagoya to establish a Christian church in the city he had bombed."
-DeShazer died in his sleep exactly 2 months ago, 15 March 2008 at the age of 95.....

I am certainly one of those impacted by the then 92 year old Pauline Jacobi.
As of today, she is 93 years of age.

Break that

I think I can see a little bit of my future.

Entering into a day of Finance (I had 8 hours of pure Finance in my original timetable, lectures and tutorials altogether), but I've swapped one of my tutorials to a Wednesday afternoon, which makes my Tuesday less heavy.

I had this subject called Quantitative of Finance.... And we are having this class in the school's Finance trading room, called Macquarie trading room. They have the cleanest computer ever!! Lol. Every CPU is attached to two 17inch monitors! This is so cool. On one of the monitors, we can have Microsoft Excel and on another, we can have our Powerpoint. I've seen one before, but never actually used one until today.

My new Finance text book can kill anyone with a blow. Yes. It is that hard. It is pretty thick, but not that thick that it can kill, it's the cover that kills! lol. I'm looking forward to studying this super duper thick textbook.... Lol. I will continue even after I end my stint with Fundies!

God's hands at work

Spent the whole of yesterday night just printing notes.

I'm still not over Man Utd's title victory at the JJB stadium.

Well, they didn't just win by virtue of Goal Difference, they won by by 2 clear points and a far superior goal difference too.

My bike broke down on my way home. It was so scary. The chains just became loose on the road itself and I had to walk the last 1k.m. home. I have lived in Varsity Lakes for close to 8 months and today was the first time I walked along the lake. It was just beautiful. I love it!

It is only week 1 and I am already exhausted with studies and studies!
I had to wake up early this morning to attend an 8a.m. for lecture.
Ok the plus point is that I understand most things the lecturer taught.
I need God's strength to be with me!

Sian...
okok

Have a good one!

Manchester United

First lesson will start at 10a.m. tomorrow.... But but but... That's not more important.

Manchester United beat Wigan at JJB stadium 2-0. Courtesy of Ronaldo's penalty and appearance record breaking Ryan Giggs - He just broke Sir Bobby Robson's appearance of 758!

Being a United fan for 10/1/2 years! Ha ha. I have never lost my passion for the game. I don't think I would ever play football for any league. However, it was the best game!

Credits to Chelsea for making the title race so exciting. But being a United fan, the preferred destination of the title is always in Old Trafford's trophy room!

Love love love it!!!!! Ha ha. I am a United fan always.....

It's all down to Champions League finale

Manchester United vs Chelsea.....
Moscow!

I love it!

Engagement party

Josh and Kate's engagement party last night was awesome.
Both of them looked fabulous....

Thea made a comment about my dressing - "I'd probably would have seen Brad Pitt wore what you wear tonight before." My reply - "Well, he'd probably got that idea from me."
Heh. There were a few great moments last night too. I think FX would know what I'm talking about. Hey! Better talk to me soon, or else I'll kill you! lol.

It was a great party last night, chatted with loads of people. Ha ha. Seen how the Aussies run their engagement party. Nothing flashy, just home setting with tons of friends. It was really good. Ha ha. Pst Don and Adrienne were absolutely happy!!

Went to church in the morning and after church, Michael and I headed to the Bond University's gym. He did personal training for me!! Yeah. He taught me how to use some of the equipments and wrote a training programme for me! I haven't hit the gym much since my injury last semester. Well... I'm raring to make abs, biceps, triceps and quadriceps be seen. Whaha. Ok. Just presenting God's creation to the known world of today.

It's mother's day today!! I had a chat with Sis and mum yesterday... A cameo appearance by my dad and domestic helper too. Whaha. It was great talking to them last night.

Ok. Church at 6.00p.m. and I'm raring to go....

3rd semester in 3...

My 3rd semester is starting in 3 days time.

Which means another grueling 14 weeks to go! Ha ha.
I nevertheless relish every month I have in this 14 weeks.
I look forward to conquer the exams and all the obstacles that are ahead of me which are here to stay!

CCC's latest album Shout Your Glory is nothing less than extraordinary.
I've replayed it over and over again.
That is one of the best Christian albums till date.

Fashion has always been my interest.
I'm really interested to know more about that and I am going to do extensive research in that field.
Whahaha.

My 4 subjects for next semester...
Cultural & Ethical Values.
Business Law..
Fundamentals of Finance...
Quantitative of Finance....

Pretty relaxed I reckon. I can really do so much more reading next semester.
I'm doing another independent module - Public Speaking. Ha ha. Yeah. God has blessed me with a book from heaven. And I take that as something He wants me to do.

I've been staying over at Heng's place for the past few days.
Been chatting about lives...
Yeash.
Tomorrow is Josh's engagement party.
Gotta know what to wear.

Pastor Kevin Loo really spoke to my heart.
Yeah. God allows time to test our character before he allows us to hold that higher position.

Had a 2 hour chat with beloved FX last night.
Talked our hearts out. Lol.
Fx ar Fx.
If another person was to hear our conversation. He would know almost 85% of us.
lol.
Have fun dudeeee..

New layout.

I've been using this holiday to be more in tune with world news and the arts.

Been re-doing my blogskin over and over again.
I'm finally much more satisfied with it.

I have a great British Sitcom to introduce to everyone (It's also called Britcom).
Fawlty Towers!!
Any of you chanced upon this movie, don't hesitate! Just watch it. One of the best comedy I've seen. Although it is not the wittiest. Nevertheless, the viewers get the message at the end of the day. It was released in the 70s and only 12 episodes were made. Every of them is a classic.

Watched quite a few movies lately. Phantom of the Opera is definitely a Classic! The musical is just so nice. The leading lady's voice is just angelic. Wahaha. If her voice is put into a church choir or even leading worship... That would be good!

Ok. It's already 3a.m. now.
And I'm still awake.

So so so tired now.
Do whatever I need to do tomorrow!!!

Ok. Thursday, here I come!

wow!

"After Kaká helped the Rossoneri to a seventh Champions League crown in 2007 (and finished as the competition's top scorer with 10 goals), he removed his jersey to reveal an "I Belong to Jesus" T-shirt. He did more than wear his faith on his sleeve. Of the $18 million he earned last year, he tithed 10% to his church."

Life.

Go for what you believe is good.

Fear not, do not hold back.
Wow. I used to be a reserve, well not anymore.
But in a good way. Every strength that we have can become the deadliest weakness.

Leadership is a double edged sword.
Think of the great leaders and the not so good ones.
Well.. This is too controversial to elaborate, but you know what I mean.

When we step out of our comfortzone. We feel so so much better although we're more busy.

Met newly ordained Pst Josh Easton for a coffee an hour ago.
Although it's just half an hour (he only has 30mins) of lunch break, I felt so much better. I wasn't feeling bad or what. Just that talking to him makes you more +ve. That is definitely awesome.

Have a great day!

Great few days

Things have been going pretty good....

Yeah. Got back to the coast. Checked my results. And yes.. Glory to God. I was placed on the Dean's list for Academic Excellence. Well, apart from some years in Primary School and my upper Secondary years, I've never achieve phenomenal results in my life. Thank you God! Heh. I love how things are going....

So I asked myself... Is that all? Missing church for one week really made me missed God's presence more. It's not just a physical building... I could listen to the sermons at home, but it just felt different. So so different. I cannot emphasize the importance of going to a place where you meet with God and people....

If without God, my life would be so bland. Yes. Visiting the nice cities of the world is truly great. Melbourne... Fun. I agree. But the curtains will draw to a close someday and we'll have to lead our lives once again...

I'm so happy that Sis and Brother in law are sharing in church about what God has done for them. Amazing... And what they've done in their lives together with God have truly been amazing. I miss my family and worry not.... They will be here with me in 16 days. Doing some countdown. Yeah.

Hopefully, I'll be in Singapore on my next holidays... I miss you guys.. Badly....

So far so good.
